António Manuel de Oliveira Guterres, GCC (born 30 April 1949) is a Portuguese diplomat and former politician and the ninth and current Secretary-General of the United Nations. Before the election, he was Prime Minister of Portugal from 1995 to 2002. He also served for a time as President of the Socialist International. He served as United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees from June 2005 to October 2015.
